I did a two hour walk around the Hong Kong Toy & Game Fair today and did a quick walk around the 2000 + vendors and also sat down with a few of the Airsoft manufacturers such as A&K, Well Fire, King Arms, Boyi, JG and some other Chinese manufacturers. The Japanese and Taiwan companies were disappointingly not in attendance.
The big news is the release of tons of Blow back AEG AK’s and M4’s that will be released in 2009. All metal and wood, they looked quite nice. A&K will also release the M60VN and M60A3 models this year, later 2009. King Arms is releasing a GBB M4 that was quite impressive (a must get). They are also releasing two Galil models which were very nice.
The big news however comes from Ying Yi Toys Industrial Ltd. (Well Fire). YYTI is releasing an all metal and wood version of the MP44… drum role please…. This February! You all know this will be in my armory. Further YYTI is looking at a 2009 release of the MG42. This is a new venture for them as A&K has been the one focused on the support guns. Other releases by YYTI include the AEG UZI and MAC10 GBB.
In the non-Airsoft world there were tons of R/C toys, especially helicopters. Sorry Flik, I didn’t see anything in the action figure world but I’ll go back tomorrow and spend more time there.
Overall I was a bit disappointed regarding airsoft stuff but as far a toy fair goes it was quite massive.
